Ed tech leaders talk a lot about promoting that failure is OK within schools without a lot of examples to support. This year, our building went 1:1 with laptops and it was a big transition for all. With the support of the LT Media Lab from the University of Minnesota, we challenged each of our teachers to try something new and fail. We celebrated both the failures and successes equally through research-based professional development and the result was beautiful.
I am a middle school technology coach in Austin, MN, serving a diverse 7th-8th grade school. My goal as a technology coach is to help teachers and students become more engaged in the learning taking place in our school.
