Supporting, Creating, and Assessing with iBooks and iBooks Author

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

iBooks and iBooks Author can support students to “close read” a text as well as allow teachers to create interactive content and formatively assess comprehension. In this session, you will experience iBooks as a learner and ponder the affordances of iBooks Author. Affordances are defined as the particular capabilities that a tool is designed for or the potential uses the educator envisions. We will feature iBooks that have been created and used within educational contexts and the disciplinary literacy strategies supported. You will collaboratively curate value-added uses of iBooks and iBooks Author in order to generate possible applications for learning.
