I have been a science teacher for 15 years. I am part of an innovative school district that has been engaged in 1:1 iPad use and personalized learning for the past five years. I am part of a team of teachers piloting approaches to learning that give students an opportunity to make more choices, take more responsibility and hopefully become interdependent learners who own their education. Ten years ago I helped pioneer an innovative program for At-Risk students called Bridges. Along with an amazing team of teachers & admin we have been developing this program and applying the concepts & technologies that leverage the best practices of fostering a growth mindset, developing interdependent learners and partnering with these struggling learners & their families to find success in a large public high school.
