I am currently in my 7th year of teaching 3rd grade at Sleepy Eye Public Schools. I have been at the forefront of technology integration at the elementary level and am currently completing my 2nd year of 1:1 iPad use in the 3rd grade classroom. I thoroughly believe in the importance of using technology in the classroom. It fosters higher-level thinking among students and increases the level of engagement making ordinary teaching and learning into something extraordinary. In addition to my passion for technology integration in the classroom setting, I have also been at the helm of an initiative to create a student news broadcast. We are well into our third year of broadcasting. Although I am the supervisor, it is really the students that have made it the program it is today. The News Team is always a work in progress, but we are proud of where we have come over the years and would love to share with you how we got there!
